Photos, leaflets, documents and programmes were available in the exhibition to show audiences how the spirit of the festival has evolved through over half a century. In addition to being one of the longest running film festivals in the world, MIFF is a major aspect of Australian cinema and also significantly contributes to the local economy, delivering more than 7 million dollars each year.*
The Melbourne International Film Festival ran between 21 July and 7 August and offered film debuts from over 50 countries. This much-anticipated cinematic event was punctuated with parties spanning across 17 days.
