Rogers International Commodity Index (RICI®) Committee Adjusts Index Weights
MIAMI, June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Jim Rogers and Beeland Interests, Inc. announced today the following adjustments to the Rogers International Commodity Index® (RICI®).
The RICI Committee decided to delete TGE Azuki Beans (0.15% Index Weight) and to increase the Index Weight of CBOT Soybeans from 3.35 to 3.5%. These adjustments will be implemented during the June 2012 roll period, which roll period occurs at the end of June 2012, and will be re-evaluated by the RICI Committee at its next annual meeting planned for December 2012.
The RICI represents the value of a compendium (or "basket") of globally traded commodities (37 commodity futures contracts, upon implementation of these changes) employed in the global economy, ranging from agricultural and energy products to metals and minerals. The RICI and its various sub-indexes are used by many investment banks and investors throughout the world. As of the end of May 2012, the RICI had increased by over 235% since inception.
