RS Components (RS), the trading brand of Electrocomponents plc (LSE:ECM), the world's leading high service distributor of electronics and maintenance products such as sockets and resistors, is helping to support the engineers of the future through providing a range of products to six of the university teams taking part in this week's Formula Student competition.

The global contest aims to inspire and develop enterprising and innovative young engineers by challenging them to design and build a single-seat racing car. From 11-15 July, students will be put to the test both on and off the track at Northamptonshire's famous Silverstone racetrack through demonstrating their understanding of engineering and through the vehicle's performance.
RS has donated a range of products to teams from: University of Birmingham; University of Sussex; Oxford Brookes University; University of Strathclyde; University of Hertford (pictured); University of Coventry.
RS will be following the progress of each of the teams during the five day event via @RSComponents.
