Sage Pay and i-KOS Break Down Trading Barriers for Growing Businesses via First Drupal Commerce Integration
LONDON, September 20, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Sage Pay has announced the launch of the first official integration module for Drupal Commerce, developed in partnership with e-commerce specialist i-KOS. The new integration will allow businesses of all sizes, from one-employee start-up to mid-sized enterprise, to establish and grow their online presence with ease.
The Sage Pay/i-KOS for Drupal Commerce module provides a full and seamless integration with Drupal. It enables commerce-ready multi-currency functionality, and harnesses the mobile accessibility and social integration available in Drupal. This will allow growing businesses to build websites that are truly scalable, meaning they can create a site that meets their immediate needs while ensuring they are fully equipped to cope with future growth.
Drupal Commerce is open source software maintained and developed by a community of more than 630,000 users and developers, and is free to download and share. This integration recognises the large number of companies adopting open-source, and in particular Drupal, as their web and mobile platform.
Overseas Expansion
The integration, using Sage Pay's latest protocol, allows businesses to bypass traditional overseas trading barriers and exponentially increase their customer-base by taking advantage of the multi-lingual functionality and a range of local payment types. It's all configured in a simple setup with the module.
Going Mobile
Findings from Sage Pay's third e-Business Benchmark report reveal that even large businesses are struggling to make the move to mobile apps with 78% of those not currently taking advantage of the mobile channel. 35% of business respondents reported that time and cost were key barriers to business growth.
The Sage Pay/i-KOS module extends the Drupal platform, and enables business to transact with customers via their smart phone or tablet; so businesses can build their own customised mobile experiences.
Social
Investment in social platforms has proved to yield positive results. Companies which spent at least 25% of their budget on customer engagement via social media posted higher profits compared to 19% for those whose profits lagged in the last year, according to the Sage Pay report.
With Drupal, it's easy for businesses to swiftly harness the power of social media as there are hundreds of freely available modules to plug-in.
The module can be downloaded from Drupal.org.
Simon Black, Sage Pay CEO comments "We are moving to a customer-centric economy, and businesses of every size must look to new channels and markets if they want sustainable growth. Mobile is the bridge for businesses to form deeper relationships with their customers, while social is proving its worth as it drives brand awareness and turns it into profit. The Drupal Commerce integration will make it easier for businesses to incorporate these channels and grow their online presence. We really believe that businesses failing to engage with these areas will fail."
Krispy Kreme UK is the first joint customer of Sage Pay and i-KOS to move on to the new integration with its new gift site. Nigel Perry, Internal Audit Manager says "With Sage Pay and i-KOS, we now have the right partners to unlock the untapped potential of online sales, and continue to develop new revenue streams."
