Saxo Celebrates Maiden GP2 Victory for Marco Sørensen
HELLERUP, Denmark, October 12, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
Saxo Bank, the trading and investment specialist, today announces that Marco Sørensen took his maiden GP2 victory in the Russian Sprint Race, leading every lap from pole position.
Making only his 12th start in the series after joining MP Motorsport mid-season, Sørensen made a great start from reversed-grid pole position.
In a joint statement, Kim Fournais and Lars Seier Christensen, co-CEOs and co-founders of Saxo Bank commented on Marco Sørensen's success:
"In Saxo Bank, we have a long tradition of supporting talent. The same way we at Saxo empower our clients to seize every opportunity that arises in the market place, Marco has shown that to win you need skills, will and passion. We are proud to support a talent that could be the next Danish F1 driver. Marco's performance today emphasizes that he has the skill and the will to go very far in this sport."
Saxo Bank decided in January this year to enter motor sports at a serious level in 2014 when it announced it would support the Lotus Formula 1 Team and Marco Sørensen.
