Secretary General of European Intermodal Association Will Give Speech at Intermodal China 2013
SHANGHAI, July 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Organized by UBM China, Intermodal China - Shippers' Summit will be held at Sheraton Hongkou Hotel, Shanghai, China from September 24 to 25, 2013.
Mr. Peter Wolters, Secretary General of European Intermodal Association (EIA) will give a speech at the conference. Peter will share with the industry players on the topics of "Global Intermodal Trends", "European Intermodal Policy", "Industrial Innovative Logistics Concepts" and "Concrete Freight Best Practices".
Peter Wolters has been promoting intermodal transport and logistics best practices to authorities and industrial users (operators & shippers) for more than a decade. He advocates better interoperability and innovative forms of collaboration between modes (rail, road, waterborne, air), since the logistics' chain still has lots of shortcomings in infrastructural, technical, organisational and legal respects. Ultimate aim is efficiency savings by turning sustainability into profitability.
Peter's experience covers industrial research initiatives such as EIRAC (European Intermodal Research Advisory Council); SmartCM (Smart Container Chain Management); Tellibox (new MegaSwapBox for road, rail, waterborne); Spectrum (exploiting new rail markets); ModAir (connecting EU airports – high speed rail); Ewita (e-learning for inland waterways and intermodal transport) and Bestfact (first EU inventory for freight best practices) among others.
Peter is an Advisory Board member in various initiatives such as SuperGreen (defining 'green corridors'), E-freight (providing a reference model for transport & logistics supporting paperless information exchange) and TIPS (Enhancing the capacity of EU transport projects to transform research results into innovative products and services).
Peter's latest ideas on the developments and sustainability of intermodal transport will bring insights to the industry players from both operators and manufacturers.
