Serono Symposia International Foundation (SSIF) has announced today, during the opening of the European Association for the Study of Diabetes Congress (EASD) which is being held in Berlin, the launch of http://www.managediabetesonline.org, a new website dedicated to medical education in diabetes.

In the last decade, an explosion in diabetes incidence occurred, not only in the EU, but throughout the world. At present, diabetes affects around 250 million people worldwide and the International Diabetes Federation estimates that by 2025 this figure will increase to over 380 million[1]. SSIF provides this new website to support healthcare professionals to reduce the impact of this epidemic disease on the society.
