Sky Poker Crown Jubilee Weekender 'Royal Success'
LONDON, June 8, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
- Massive wins confirmed throughout the Diamond Jubilee weekend
- Sky Poker player takes home £8,000 in Jubilee Super Roller
The rain may have threatened to put a dampener on the weekend's Jubilee celebrations but we Brits were always going to persevere, putting on a jolly good show whatever the weather. Sky Poker certainly hosted a party to remember. The online poker giants organised several special poker events in celebration of the Queen's 60-year reign; giving ardent poker players the chance to win massive amounts of cash prizes.
One event that grabbed a lot of royal attention was the Jubilee Super Roller, played out on Sunday 3rd June. This gave players a chance to claim a slice of the £20,000 guaranteed prize-pool and attracted over 500 players to the tables. It was also broadcast live on the popular Sky Poker TV channel (Sky Channel 865).
After 8 hours of play, the tournament finished at 4:15am on Monday morning and the winner 'WOW1tsANDY' managed to bag a massive £8,000 from the Super Roller prize-pool, making him the biggest prize winner of the weekend.
The Jubilee Super Roller was just the main course on a menu full of appetising starters and desserts. From Saturday (June 2nd) to Tuesday (June 5th) Sky Poker hosted an array of special poker events, collectively guaranteeing a prize pool worth approximately £60,000. Events including popular Timed Tournaments, Bounty Hunters and even HU shuffles generated hundreds of prize winners throughout the weekend.
Commenting on this past weekend's Jubilee bonanza, a spokesperson for Sky Poker said:
"We're absolutely delighted with the turnout this weekend. All of our special Jubilee events proved extremely popular with our customers, so a big thank you to everyone who joined in. Overall it was a right royal success!"
Sky Poker also hosted extended Happy Hours over the weekend, giving players the chance to boost their Cash for Points totals by a satisfying 60%- as opposed to the usual 50% gain. These 'extra' Happy Hours, held at 10am and 4pm on the Saturday and Sunday, were added to the usual 11am, 5pm and 11pm Happy Hour times giving Sky Poker players even more cause for celebration.
