Social Media Brings Global Attention to Child Prodigy

A Short Film on a Child Prodigy Draws Global Attention Thanks to Social Media
A short film on a child prodigy who created more than 25,000 pictures in his short life of 2522 days has drawn global attention thanks to social media.
Edmund Thomas Clint, seen as a genius by many, lived for less than seven years at a time when there was only little global media exchange. Thirty years after his demise, Kerala Tourism decided to organize an Online International Children's Painting Competition in the artist's memory. A five minute film on Clint's life and work was created and uploaded to various social media channels and posted on their own website as well. The film has bagged more than 2 million video views from all channels in four short months.
The child prodigy Clint was named after Clint Eastwood by his father M.T. Joseph, who was a great fan of Hollywood movies. 25 years back, Clint Eastwood saw a documentary on the work of the child-artist, made by Sivakumar, a noted film maker from India, and was very impressed. On learning of young Clint's untimely passing, Eastwood sent a personal note to Joseph and Chinnamma, the parents of the artist.
The International Online Painting Competition for Children closes on May 31, 2014, and the winners, both among participants and promoters, are being offered prizes of free trips to Kerala. Invis Multimedia, the IT consultant and solution provider of Kerala Tourism is the official agency for oganising international online painting competition for children.
