Bowers & Wilkins Sound System, the monolithic speaker stack from the British audio innovators, makes a thumping return to the live festival circuit at Primavera Sound 2015. Bowers & Wilkins developed Sound System to bring studio-quality sound to the festival environment, creating a dynamic and heightened listening experience for audiences. Featuring an amazing 135,000 Watts of power, the towering 4-way active speaker system weighs-in at 4 metric tonnes and delivers a level of audio detail previously unheard at live performances.
The first night in the marquee is hosted by prestigious electronic music website Resident Advisor, who present heavy weights from the contemporary electronic dance scene including the DJ and producer Maceo Plex, renowned for his releases on labels such as Kompact and on his own label Ellum. He is joined by Tale of Us, the Italian duo that has made a name for itself with its eclectic fusion of styles, Roman Flügel, a legend on the German scene, the project Tuff City Kids from Gerd Janson and Lauer, neo-disco from British DJ Rory Phillips and one of the best Spanish DJs, the versatile Chelis from Zaragoza.
On the Friday, with the collaboration of Red Bull Music Academy, there will be a session by one of the figures of the moment, Dixon from Germany, founder of the Innervisions label and a bastion of contemporary house. The rest of the night will mostly be dominated by dark, experimental sounds with two live acts from Spain Sunny Graves and Exoteric Continent. Along the same line there will be concerts by Veronica Vasicka, the British duo Raime, dark techno from Objekt and the Barcelona artist bRUNA.
Saturday is reserved for Hivern, the Barcelona label that everybody is talking about thanks to a roster of key names from the contemporary dance music scene and thanks to management by John Talabot. Also appearing will be C.P.I., the project by Marc Piñol and Hugo Capablanca, the Tel Aviv duo Red Axes, a special appearance by Caribou under his Daphni alias, Christian S from the Cómeme label and a live show by JMII.
Brand Director of Bowers & Wilkins Danny Haikin commented, "Sound System brought best-in-class sound to a live audience in 2014. This year, we will be continuing that tradition, exploring new environments and working with new talent. Continuing our collaboration with Primavera Sound is the perfect opportunity to showcase the capabilities of the system with both established and emerging artists"
