The exercise was organized by the European Union Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA) to test emergency preparedness in the event of a cyber attack.

- CE2014 involved more than 200 organizations from 29 EU and EFTA countries, taking place simultaneously in all 28 European member states and included participants from diverse companies such as telecom giants and national secret services.
- Teams competed to test the resilience of IT systems and response capacity in the event of a serious cross-border cybersecurity threat.
- SSH Communications Security ranked number one out of the 14 groups from Finland invited to participate in the exercise, and fifth overall out of all competitors according to published results.
