Saturday 29th October 2011 sees the return of the world famous Stompin' At The Savoy. Since The Savoy first opened in 1889, the hotel has echoed to the sounds of legendary musicians such as Josephine Baker, Frank Sinatra, Lena Horne, George Gershwin, Amy Winehouse and Noel Coward. Stepping up to the microphone and helping to relaunch Stompin' at The Savoy is Paloma Faith, who will be performing with the 30-piece Guy Barker Orchestra.
Stompin' at The Savoy will take place in the elegant surroundings of the hotel's Lancaster Ballroom with the atmosphere of an intimate, decadent late night supper club from the 1940's. Guests will be welcomed with a glass of champagne and once seated cocktails and a late night supper menu will be served throughout the evening.
"No other London hotel enjoys the reputation The Savoy has for live entertainment. So we are delighted to be bringing back Stompin'at The Savoy," comments Kiaran MacDonald, General Manager of The Savoy. "My predecessor, César Ritz, was the first to introduce live music to The Savoy back in 1890 and I am keen to continue this tradition."
Paloma Faith, who will be joined by special surprise guests to be announced on the night, has enjoyed considerable commercial success and industry acclaim. The jazz influenced singer-song writer was nominated for best British Female Solo Artist at this year's Brit Awards. "To perform with a 30 piece orchestra is a real treat," comments Paloma Faith. "So many amazing artists have played at The Savoy and I'm delighted to be involved in bringing Stompin' back to life." The 30 piece orchestra will be led by Mercury Prize nominated Guy Barker, who has worked with Paul Weller, Sting, Sammy Davis Jnr and Frank Sinatra.
Stompin' at The Savoy, produced by Three's A Crowd, will take place at The Savoy on Saturday 29th October from 10pm until late. Tickets are priced from £125 and can be booked by telephoning 0845-177-0181. Full details are available at http://www.stompinatthesavoy.co.uk
