Stompin' at the Savoy Promises the Hottest New Year's Eve Ticket in Town With the Guy Barker Orchestra and Special Guests
LONDON, November 17, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
The recently relaunched Stompin' At The Savoy will return on New Year's Eve for what promises to be London's most exclusive, decadent and glamorous New Year's celebration.
Stompin' At The Savoy takes place in the elegant surroundings of The Savoy's Lancaster Ballroom, which has hosted some spectacular parties and famous guests such as Noël Coward, Marlene Dietrich, Fred Astaire, Sir Laurence Olivier, Marilyn Monroe, and Richard Burton & Elizabeth Taylor.
Just 250 guests will have the chance to follow in these famous footsteps with a Champagne reception and canapés in The River Room, followed by a sumptuous four-course dinner in the Lancaster Ballroom and a Champagne toast at midnight whilst watching the fireworks over the Thames.
Entertainment will be provided by the Guy Barker Orchestra and a host of guest artists, presented in partnership with BBC Radio 2, who will be broadcasting live from the Lancaster Ballroom between 10.30pm and half past midnight.
The stunning line up of guest artists includes: Beverley Knight, the Soul and R&B singer who has released six solo albums and won three MOBO awards; Tony Christie, the lounge legend best known for "Is This the Way to Amarillo" who has sold over 10 million albums worldwide; Paloma Faith, the jazz-pop singer and Brit Award nominee who performed to a sell-out audience at the first Stompin' At The Savoy in October; and Buddy Greco, who in a career spanning more than six decades has worked with the Rat Pack and Benny Goodman and released 68 albums and over 100 singles.
The evening will be hosted by comedian and TV presenter Patrick Kielty and the orchestra will be led by Mercury Prize nominated trumpeter and band leader Guy Barker, who has worked with music legends such as Paul Weller, Sting, Sammy Davis Jnr, Liza Minelli and Frank Sinatra.
Mark Emms, producer of Stompin' At The Savoy said: "We believe we have created the ultimate New Year's Eve experience, harking back to the decadent celebrations of the 1930s and 40s. The Savoy is a unique venue and their superb cuisine, combined with A-list artists and the Guy Barker Orchestra performing in such an intimate setting, make this truly special."
Stompin' at The Savoy, produced by Three's A Crowd Events, will take place at The Savoy on Saturday December 31st. Tickets are £995 and can be booked by telephoning 0845 177 0181. Room packages are also available from £2600. Full details are available at http://www.stompinatthesavoy.co.uk.
