PARIS, June 25, 2016 /PRNewswire/ --
Tarkett, a global leader in innovative and sustainable solutions for flooring and sports surfaces, will attend the World Economic Forum's 10th Annual Meeting of the New Champions in Tianjin, the People's Republic of China on 26-28 June.
This annual summit on global science, innovation and technology brings together business leaders shaping the next generation of enterprise along with top figures from international business, government, media, academia and civil society. Altogether, the meeting attracts more than 1500 leaders from 90 countries.
The theme this year is: 'The Fourth Industrial Revolution and its Transformational Impact', stressing the great social, economic and cultural changes unleashed by the latest technology. WEF's agenda is to discuss how collaboration between next generation industry, government and academia can turn these new forces of change into prosperity.
Benoit Miquel, Tarkett Asia Pacific Vice President, and Mark Sun, Tarkett Managing Director China will attend the event and engage in various sessions and meetings.
Benoit Miquel will also participate in the World Economic Forum's Industry Strategy Meeting, where the discussion is focused around the future shaping of the world industry. The aims of this meeting is to identify the critical interface where sectors can work together for economic and societal benefit, and explore how industries can shift from managing disruption to pioneering new models of public-private collaboration, particularly in light of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
"I am delighted we are part of this important summit," says Benoit Miquel, Tarkett Asia Pacific Vice President. "Technology and innovation has great potential to set us all on course for sustainable economic growth and the expert and diverse views convened at this meeting will contribute enormously to our understanding as to how we can contribute to that as a company."
Tarkett joined the World Economic Forum as a Partner Company in January 2016 as a dual member, covering the Global Challenge initiative on the 'Environment and Natural Resource Security' and as an Industry Partner for 'Infrastructure and Urban Development'. The World Economic Forum brings together the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas at international summits.
Across the year, Tarkett takes a full part in research and discussions organized by WEF into the circular economy and also the future of construction worldwide. Recently, it was a contributor to the new WEF report, "Shaping the Future of Construction: A healthy outlook and how to make it a reality", published in April - part of WEF's Industry Agenda project exploring how the engineering and construction sector can drive sustainable business growth.
