Team Isleworth Grabs First-Round Lead at Tavistock Cup

Team Isleworth leads Round 1 of the Tavistock Cup with a two-stroke advantage on its home course.
Team Isleworth, which features Robert Allenby, Stuart Appleby, Brian Davis, J.B. Holmes, Sean O'Hair and Lee Janzen, shot 30-under par in the better ball format to hold a slight lead on Team Albany.
Isleworth's Davis and Holmes fired a 12-under par 60 to tie the best score of the day and overtake Albany's early lead. The duo of Appleby and Allenby and the pairing of Janzen and O'Hair both shot a 63.
Represented by Arjun Atwal, Ernie Els, Trevor Immelman, Ian Poulter, Justin Rose and Tiger Woods, Team Albany enters Round 2 in second place with a Round 1 score of 28-under par. Rose and Poulter carded a 61, while Els and Immelman posted a 63. Atwal and Woods combined for a 64.
At 25-under par, Team Lake Nona is in third place following Round 1. Lake Nona's Graeme McDowell and Retief Goosen shot a 12-under par 60 to match the low round of the day. Ross Fisher and Oliver Wilson posted a 64, and Peter Hanson and Henrik Stenson finished at 67.
Team Queenwood is in fourth place after finishing 16-under par. Thomas Bjorn and Adam Scott recorded a 65, Darren Clarke and David Howell posted a 67, and Paul McGinley and Soren Kjeldsen shot 68. Team Queenwood's Scott won the Long Drive Challenge on Hole 7 with a drive measuring 295 yards into the wind.
Round 2 of the four-team competition will feature individual stroke play. In each group, each player will play their own ball. Each team will count six 18-hole individual scores. The team with the lowest score in relation to par at the end of both rounds will be crowned World Golf and Country Club Champion.
