Gigasphere brings high-speed broadband to consumers
Gigasphere stands for extremely fast access to the Internet via cable network and the new wave of IP-based applications and cloud services enabled by the high-speed connections. Gigasphere is made possible by DOCSIS 3.1 technology and compliant products that support 1.2 GHz downstream capacity and ensure broadband speeds of 1 Gpbs for individual subscribers.
"In addition to entertainment services like video-on-demand, we are already witnessing a new wave of service development with a rapidly increasing number of cloud services and new market openings for IP-based applications such as Smart Home. Adapting DOCSIS 3.1 to their networks enables operators to provide their customers reliable access to these new services. In the future, this will be one of the key issues for creating an excellent customer experience and finding out new business opportunities," said Hanno Narjus, SVP of Video and Broadband Solutions for Teleste.
Teleste has been a forerunner in bringing DOCSIS 3.1-compliant network products to the market. Already in 2013, we launched the first DOCSIS 3.1-compliant node, and right up through today, we have been gathering experience from successful deployments of the technology. At ANGA COM 2015, we will highlight the following major newcomers to our portfolio:
- Intelligent 1.2 GHz fibre optic nodes Teleste AC9100 and Teleste AC8710
- Teleste ACE3, an intelligent and compact broadband amplifier to our ACE family
- HDO921, CATV fibre transmitter with high density and dynamic segmentation
- 1.2 GHz indoor and outdoor passives for a variety of housings
