The event will take place in Cologne, Germany, 7-9 June and you will find us at stand E19 in hall 10.2. Meanwhile, you can visit our webpages to find our more about our Luminato headend platform and its various modules. Stay tuned closer to the event for updates on our ANGA COM 2016 webpage.
"Today, technological innovation is needed to lead the way in headend development", states Julius Tikkanen, Vice President of Video Service Platforms for Teleste. "The future of TV and video services has not ended with IPTV technology - rather, there is a growing need for more flexibility and versatility in the service design. Maintaining the quality of services and meeting diverse customer demands requires advances in headend technology, and taking a fresh perspective on service development. Our goal at Teleste is to give our customers the means to develop their service bundle in a way that best benefits them and their consumers' increasingly individualized requirements."
In 2015, a new step in headend development was announced when Teleste introduced a new application module for the company's Luminato headend platform. The module includes a full-featured Linux computer and makes it possible to code headend applications for various needs and application areas. For any type of application that addresses your needs, you can independently code the application by yourself, just as you would do on a separate server. Only imagination is your limit!
CryptoGuard's smart and secure CAS solution is powered by the Luminato application module
An innovative example of utilising the Luminato application module has been introduced by CryptoGuard, a Swedish developer and vendor of Conditional Access System (CAS) and Digital Rights Management (DRM) solutions; the company is using the module in their smart and secure access control system, which is built on a deeper integration between the CAS server and headend.
Typically, operators manage conditional access rights on a CAS server that is separate from the headend itself. In CryptoGuard's solution, the CAS server is replaced by the Luminato application module, which removes the need for separate hardware. Due to the deeper integration between the server and headend, the solution offers increased data security and flexibility in controlling and managing access rights, and creates additional benefits via reducing any compatibility issues, as well as cutting down hardware maintenance costs.
"We are pleased to cooperate with Teleste, which will further strengthen CryptoGuard's position within the market. The integration of CryptoGuard's highly secure Conditional Access System and the 'pay-as-you-grow' model, reducing initial costs and realizing attractive OPEX savings, makes it a viable option for any size of operator." says Hannu Vunnel, Marketing Director, CryptoGuard.

Introducing the Luminato Multireceiver for efficient high bitrate satellite video
At ANGA COM 2016 we will also showcase a new Teleste Luminato multireceiver, which is a compact and multifunctional module for Cable TV and IPTV operators. Featuring two physical ports with dual receivers, the module enables several possible input configurations, and, thus, lowers investment costs.
The multireceiver supports several standards, including DVB-S2X reception for efficient high bitrate satellite video. It can be used to receive payloads via satellite, terrestrial and cable networks and via IP inputs, either encrypted or free-to-air. All input alternatives are enabled with software and they are available without additional software keys/licenses.
More information about the multireceiver module is available here.
