NUREMBERG, Germany, March 28, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
- Dalek dinner deliveries not on room service menu for hotel guests -
Returning to our screens with its latest series this Saturday (30th March), Doctor Who has had families hiding behind sofas and cowering under blankets for the best part of 50 years. But today, new research from online booking service hotel.info [ http://www.hotel.info ] reveals for the first time which of the eleven Doctors (and their faithful companions) the British public would like to wake up next to in their hotel rooms, and which they'd prefer to 'exterminate'.
Top Five Bed-Buddy Doctors:
- David Tennant (10th Doctor)
- Matt Smith (11th Doctor)
- Christopher Eccleston (9th Doctor)
- Tom Baker (4th Doctor)
- Paul McGann (8th Doctor)
Of the Doctors' trusted companions, 17% of Brits would like to wake up next to John Barrowman's character, Jack Harkness - who eventually went on to have his own spin-off BBC series, Torchwood. Followed closely by Amy Pond (played by Karen Gillen), the top 10 list also features a non-human companion in the form of K-9, a robotic dog that one in twenty of us would welcome waking up next to.
Top Five Hotel Room Companions:
- Jack Harkness (John Barrowman)
- Amy Pond (Karen Gillan)
- River Song (Alex Kingston)
- Rose Tyler (Billie Piper)
- Clara Oswin Oswald (Jenna-Louise Coleman)
Despite only being available in hotels with lifts rather than stairs (for the traditionalists), the Daleks do feature in the hotel.info survey, but only as one of the Doctor Who villains that Brits would least like their room service delivered by.
