The 7th China Yiwu International Forest Products Fair Successfully Held
YIWU, China, Nov. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The 7th China Yiwu International Forest Products Fair ("Forest Fair") was held at the Yiwu International Expo Centre on November 1-4. The fair, themed "harmonious coexistence and sustainable development," was expected to attract 1,322 exhibitors from nearly 30 countries and regions who showcased their products at 3,240 booths across the 70,000-square-meter exhibition space.
Event highlights:
1. Creativity and innovation
During the fair, the 3rd China Creative Forestry Products Competition and the 3rd China Creative Forestry Industry Development Forum took place. At the two events, 2,000 entry designs and 500 finished works were on display at the 100 specialized booths for creative forestry products.
2. Integration of online and offline markets
The 7th Forest Fair leveraged the mobile internet, e-commerce, microblogging, Wechat and other new information technologies to assure long-term success on the "Online Forest Fair" platform.
3. A rich supply of forest foods
This year's fair saw the participation of 682 forest food purveyors both from China and abroad who set up 1,336 booths showcasing more than a thousand kinds of products, including edible fungus, dried fruit, edible wild herbs, health products and edible animal foods.
4. Frequent international exchange events
With the increasing popularity and influence of the China Yiwu International Forest Products Fair, more and more countries are utilizing the platform to conduct international exchanges. Three such events were held during the Fair this year, including the Sino-Canada cooperation exchange meeting for wood-based architecture held by Alberta Environment and Sustainable Resource Development, Canada; the ASEAN Economic and Trade Cooperation press conference held by ASEAN Center; and the "friendly exchanges and cooperation" agreement signed between the cities of Hebron in Palestine and Yiwu. The policies set forth by ASEAN countries for attracting foreign capital, with the aim of attracting more investment via China Yiwu International Forest Products Fair's resources, will be announced at the press conference.
5. Agricultural and forestry products exhibition from 28 countries and regions around the world
Exhibitors at this year's Forest Fair originated from 28 countries and regions, including Korea, Malaysia, Thailand, Fiji, Spain, Vietnam and Taiwan, among others, with 154 booths displaying imported agricultural and forestry products.
