The 8th China Yiwu International Forest Products Fair to be Held in November, Highlighting Green Development
YIWU, China, Sept. 24, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- The 8th China Yiwu International Forest Products Fair, co-organized by the State Forestry Administration of China and the government of Zhejiang province, will be held at the Yiwu International Expo Center between November 1st and 4th, 2015.
2015 marks the seventh consecutive year that this largest comprehensive forest fair in Asia has been held since its founding in 2008. The 2014 fair, which featured an exhibition area of 70,000 square meters housing 3,240 booths, realized an aggregate turnover of 4.682 billion yuan (approx. US$755 million). As the first UFI-certified forest exhibition in China and the second UFI-certified forest expo worldwide, the event is of great significance to the sustainable development of the Chinese forestry sector.
With a focus on green development of forestry and green consumption of forestry products, this year's exhibition will not only highlight the participation of many well-known Chinese forestry companies, but it will also exhibit a range of select forest products and the latest achievements in the Chinese forestry sector. The fair is expected to become an important trading, cooperation and information platform for Chinese forestry companies who plan to go global.
The 2015 fair, featuring 3,000 booths spread over a 70,000-square-meter exhibition space, is expected to attract 1,200 exhibitors from outside of China, with the largest number of exhibitors hailing from South Korea, France, Australia, Brazil and Malaysia. More than 100,000 buyers are expected to attend, with a significant number coming from outside of China.
Three forums, the China Forest Economic Development Summit, the China Forest Products E-commerce Development Forum and the China Creative Forestry Industry Development Forum, will be held during the fair. Several events will run concurrently with the expo, including the China Forest Products Creativity Contest and a quality forest products selection campaign, both of which are aimed at promoting the international trade of forest products as well as scientific and academic exchanges on forestry.
An international purchaser trade fair will be held as well, providing a great opportunity for exhibitors to meet with international buyers. In addition, during the four-day exhibition, approximately one hundred business meetings will be organized, where exhibiting companies will seek to establish relationships with prospective customers, representatives, suppliers and industry associations.
