The Brattle Group Expands Rome Office With Addition of Regulatory Expert Francesco Lo Passo
ROME, May 30, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Global economic consulting firm The Brattle Group announced today that regulatory expert Francesco Lo Passo has joined the firm's Rome office as a principal.
Dr. Lo Passo has unrivalled expertise in the application of regulatory economic principles in energy, transportation, telecommunications and other industries within Italy. His clients include leading companies, investment banks and institutional bodies in Europe, Turkey, South Africa and the Middle East.
Dr. Lo Passo is experienced in applying economic principles to regulatory issues such as cost of capital estimation for regulated companies, tariff design, network codes, capacity payments, unbundling of regulatory accounts and incentive mechanisms for renewable energy sources. He has helped clients to define their regulatory strategy in the context of market reforms and has broad experience in global privatisation processes.
Prior to joining Brattle, Dr. Lo Passo was a director at a large economic consulting firm, a Member of the Council of Experts for the Italian Treasury, and a Senior Adviser on energy to the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He has held positions at CONSOB, the Italian Security Exchange Commission, and management consulting company Bain. Dr. Lo Passo received his Ph.D. and M.A. in Economics from the University of Chicago and his J.D. from the Universita di Torino.
