The Hospital for Sick Children to Use New Radiology Quality Solution
TORONTO, June 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- A new kind of diagnostic imaging peer review software will be used at The Hospital for Sick Children (SickKids). Real Time Medical's diagnostic sharing platform DiaShare™ Quality will be the hospital's radiology QA solution. It will be used for the same-day review of diagnostic reports.
SickKids is one of the world's foremost paediatric health-care institutions and is known for pioneering clinical advancements to improve the health of children.
"The QA peer review software will reside on the current PACS reporting workstations," states Daniela Crivianu-Gaita, VP & CIO Information Management and Technology Portfolio, at The Hospital for Sick Children. "The software allows the flexibility for either prospective or retrospective quality assurance program. At SickKids we are currently starting with a retrospective review. There are tools within the system that allow easy auditing in case of any discrepancy," explains Crivianu-Gaita.
Real Time Medical Co-Founder and CEO, Ian Maynard, explains: "We created DiaShare with both patients and physicians in mind. It's designed to improve clinical care by addressing multiple needs in a single platform."
The new radiology quality assurance program at SickKids is expected to be operational by this summer.
