All leading OEMs are now evaluating FlatFrog technology as an innovative Win8 certified replacement for capacitance touch, especially when highest quality screen clarity is needed. Unlike projected capacitive touch, FlatFrog Touch has no sensor grid in front of the LCD screen, obstructing the image quality. This ensures a superior viewing experience with maximum transparency and no image quality degradation. Furthermore, the FlatFrog technology is insensitive to LCD noise, eliminating the need for an additional shielding layer, which adds extra cost. This means that OEMs can develop solutions with optimal viewing performance while reducing their touch module spending significantly.
"We are very pleased that we have been selected to enable this OEM to deliver a high quality PC touch solution," said Dhwani Vyas, CEO of FlatFrog. "The design award validates the development of our touch module which is now ready for production, putting FlatFrog well ahead of our competition and on track to execute to our key goals for 2014."
A range of high volume consumer PC products can already be enabled with FlatFrog Touch, including Notebooks, Tablets, All-in-One PCs and Monitors. FlatFrog Touch is certified for Windows 8.1 and offers a premium touch experience supporting over 40 simultaneous touches at a lower cost than the leading projected capacitive touch technology.
Additionally FlatFrog Touch natively supports pressure sensing with over 10-bit resolution. FlatFrog can enable pressure sensitive drawing and writing without the need for an active stylus, as well as new application gestures for music, gaming and smart user interfaces.
