Higher education professionals attending this event will be able to learn the latest information regarding the TOEFL test, the world's most widely recognized English-language test, and the GRE revised General test, the world's most widely accepted graduate admissions test. Both of these prominent assessments are taken by students to gain admission into the most prestigious institutions around the world, including a rapidly growing number of European universities and business schools.
"The EAIE conference provides an excellent forum for enriching exchange with the international higher education community about the needs of educational institutions and organizations in Europe and around the world," said David Payne, Vice President and Chief Operating Officer of the Higher Education Division at ETS. "ETS assessments play a vital role in the recruitment and admissions process for higher education programs worldwide, and the opportunity to engage with our European stakeholders at EAIE is invaluable."
During the EAIE Conference, ETS will be leading four panel discussions on topics such as the role of standardized assessments in the internationalization of European higher education, the assessment of non-cognitive skills and the latest measurements of student learning outcomes. ETS representatives also will be available to answer questions regarding the TOEFL and GRE tests and other related services throughout the conference at exhibit stand 146.
About the TOEFL and GRE Tests
For nearly 50 years, the TOEFL test has been the most widely accepted English-language assessment in the world, recognized by more than 8,500 colleges, universities and agencies in more than 130 countries. Globally, the TOEFL test is available at more than 4,500 testing sites in more than 165 countries. To date, more than 27 million students around the world have taken the TOEFL test. For more information about the TOEFL test, including the newly launched TOEFL Search Service, an online tool connecting higher education institutions with recent TOEFL test takers interested in studying abroad, visit www.ets.org/toefl.
GRE test scores provide graduate and business schools around the world with an objective and common measure for evaluating and comparing the qualifications of applicants with differing educational and cultural backgrounds. For more than 60 years, GRE scores have been used by admissions and fellowship panels to supplement undergraduate records, including grades and recommendations, and other qualifications for graduate-level study. The GRE revised General Test measures the skills that graduate and business schools value: verbal reasoning, quantitative reasoning, critical thinking and analytical writing — skills that are not limited to any specific field of study, but are important for all. Used by thousands of graduate and business schools around the world, the test is available at about 700 ETS-authorized test centers in more than 160 countries.
