Top Cruise Lines Honoured: Two UK Ports Scoop Awards
- Cruise Critic Announces 2013 Editors' Picks Awards
LONDON, Oct. 17, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The world's largest cruise reviews site and cruise community, Cruise Critic® (http://www.cruisecritic.co.uk), has announced its UK Editors' Picks Awards for 2013. The awards, which celebrate excellence in cruise travel, have been selected by Cruise Critic's team of cruise editors in 18 different categories recognising the very best cruise lines, ships and ports.
The award for best new ship went to Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Breakaway, which debuted in April. Editors noted that the vessel, which features a Boardwalk concept on which all venues have outdoor seating, includes improved and refined features from Norwegian Epic – dining, entertainment and The Haven complex. The line also secured the award for Best Entertainment for the second consecutive year.
Celebrity Cruise Line's Celebrity Solstice Class ships won the Best Suites category, whilst Celebrity Equinox's SKY Bar was nominated Best Cruise Ship Bar.
Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines takes the award for Best Value for Money; P&O Cruises for Best Itineraries; and Thomson Cruises is noted as a top family line and named the Best for Cruising with Kids.

Cruise Critic identified Southampton to be Best UK Departure Port. Liverpool was also recognised in the awards as Best UK Port of Call.
Cruise Critic chose Viking Cruises as Best River Cruise Line, and AMA Waterways' new AMAPrima took the Best New River Ship award.
