- New look AVG FREE and PRO AntiVirus apps also available in additional languages
AMSTERDAM and SAN FRANCISCO, April 3, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- AVG Technologies N.V. (NYSE: AVG), The online security company for 177 million active users, today announced that its AVG® AntiVirus for Android™ flagship mobile security application, has been updated to integrate with the new AVG Zen™ app. Available for download via the Google Play™ app store, the version 4.0 update covers both the AVG AntiVirus FREE for Android and AVG AntiVirus PRO for Android apps, available for both smartphones and tablets.
The new AVG AntiVirus 4.0 user interface design includes the same look 'Protection', 'Performance,' and 'Privacy' tiles as in AVG Zen™, and also an 'Anti-Theft' section on the home screen. These visual representations allow users to see what they need to do to improve their smartphone or tablet security settings, including activating enhanced features or downloading other AVG apps. The AVG AntiVirus 4.0 apps will also now be available in two new languages, Indonesian and Thai.
"The AVG AntiVirus 4.0 update recognizes that security is increasingly extending beyond the device to focus more on protecting our personal data, and that of the family members and friends in our lives," said Omri Sigelman, VP of Mobile Sales for AVG Technologies. "This was the original thinking behind AVG Zen™ and we are now making AVG AntiVirus 4.0 available in AVG Zen to help ensure that consumers find it easy to protect their data and devices in today's hyper-connected world."
Consumers downloading the latest AVG AntiVirus 4.0 app will see an AVG Zen™ drawer in the upper left-hand corner of the navigation bar, which will prompt them to select 'Manage devices' and download the AVG Zen™ app. Once installed, the AVG Zen network lets users see the status of their Android and PC devices within their network all from one place. With AVG Zen™, users get an at-a-glance, real-time status of their connected devices and are able to decide what proactive, corrective measures they should take to maintain their protection levels. They can also send email invites to add other devices of friends and family to their AVG Zen™ network.
AVG AntiVirus FREE is the most installed free AntiVirus for Android product on the Google Play app store, with over 100 million downloads as of March 31 2014. Learn more about AVG AntiVirus FREE for Android™ or download the latest version here.
