LONDON, February 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ --
World Finance has chosen a tough time to announce the Exchange and Brokers Awards 2012. As a result of the continued eurozone crisis having a deep impact, global trading has been pushed into difficult territory and market conditions have been tight, requiring stock exchanges and major brokers to demonstrate their worth against volatile conditions. Brokers have faced trying market conditions with uncertainty in practically every trading arena.
For exchanges, there has been a global change in power structure. European and US exchanges have had to prove their value in the face of impressive performances from China's big exchanges, with notoriety proving of little value to the established exchange players when money has gone into newer markets.
Exchanges have had to adapt to changes in trading preferences, requiring improvements to meet new demands for markets such as commodities and currencies. This has required exchanges to either bolster their existing infrastructure or create significant partnerships that keep them relevant.
Brokers have equally had a difficult time, with no market a safe haven. For many, this has necessitated far more careful monitoring of markets with far less reward for their effort. In addition, the growing presence of quality online trading platforms and brokers has both provided a new challenge to established brokerages and opened markets up to a far wider audience of trader.
Impressive performances in challenging conditions, as witnessed by World Finance, has helped decide the winners of the Exchange and Brokers Awards 2012. These actors have proven their value through either the innovations they have employed within the markets or the transaction volumes they have been able to generate and maintain. Their success in either respect is a credit to their hard work, which World Finance recognises through these awards. Well done to them all.
