Trimega Laboratories Recruits two Leading Scientists From the Forensic Science Service
LONDON, July 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Trimega Laboratories, a leading company for testing hair for substance abuse, has hired two experienced forensic toxicologists to join its laboratory in Manchester. Marcus Donohue will be Principal Forensic Scientist and Catherine Hilton will be working as a Forensic Scientist at Trimega.
Both join the firm from the UK Government's Forensic Science Service Ltd (FSS), which is currently the leading provider of forensic science to the UK Criminal Justice System (UKCJS), but due for closure in the near future.
Marcus will be working closely with Trimega's Technical Director, Christian Zuniga, in further developing the laboratory and ensuring highest quality standards are maintained.
Marcus joined the FSS in 1998 where he worked as a Forensic Specialist dealing with the assessment, management and interpretation of a wide range of criminal toxicology cases. During his time at the FSS, Marcus accrued a vast amount of experience of appearing as an expert witness, providing oral testimony at courts throughout England and Wales. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours (BSc Hons) in Chemistry with Pharmaceutical and Forensic Science.
Catherine joined the FSS in 2001 where she worked as a Forensic Toxicology Analyst. Her role involved the day-to-day processing of toxicological evidence on a large number of criminal cases, including numerous cases that were very high profile. Catherine was influential in the development of analytical methods to detect and quantify drugs present in body fluids. Prior to joining the FSS, Catherine worked as a Development Scientist at Evans Medical. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree with Honours (BSc Hons) in Biochemistry, and will be working in the laboratory where she will bring her extensive experience to maintaining Trimega's best quality processes.
Avi Lasarow, CEO of Trimega Laboratories, said: "We are delighted to welcome Marcus and Catherine to our company. Both of them have impressive track records of working at the highest levels in forensic science and we are sure that they will be valuable additions to the Trimega team. I am also confident that this further positions Trimega to provide toxicology services in the Criminal Justice area."
