UBC Strengthens Midlands Presence with Central Birmingham Business Centre
BIRMINGHAM, England, March 17, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
The latest business centre to join the United Business Centres (UBC) portfolio is 65 Church Street, a historic building located in the commercial and financial heart of Birmingham.
Since the lease agreement was finalised towards the end of 2013, UBC has been undertaking a full refurbishment and fit-out of the property. The first phase of works are now almost complete, resulting in a total of 33 serviced offices and 148 workstations.
This centrally-located business centre opening next month, offers a prime opportunity for SMEs and larger businesses to occupy professional office space in a key Birmingham city centre location.
Workspace is spread across five floors of the property and is available in configurations ranging from two workstations up to large corporate office space for 30 people. The accommodation is fully furnished and available to rent under flexible licence agreements, with short-term contracts available along with longer-term lets for firms wishing to create an established presence in the city.
Tom Mulvaney, Managing Director of United Business Centres, said: "We are delighted to bring 65 Church Street to the market and feel it will provide an ideal solution for small or medium businesses looking for a professional base in the UK's second city.
"We are continuing to see high demand for flexible office space in and around Birmingham. We have high occupancy at our existing South Birmingham and Birmingham Airport business centres and our newest addition in Central Birmingham's Jewellery Quarter is already seeing substantial interest. 65 Church Street complements our Midlands fleet and is a fantastic addition to UBC's growing portfolio."
There are meeting rooms available providing space for 4 to 12 people with plans to expand and develop a conference venue for clients and external businesses upon completion of the lower ground floor.
65 Church Street is a Victorian building that dates back to 1908. It was a former Diocesan Lodge of the Girls' Friendly Society, an initiative set up in 1875 to provide support and accommodation for young women who were new to urban life. The historic property features various architectural elements of interest including Ionic pilasters, arched entranceway, attractive sash and oval windows, a parapet and a stone panel bearing the date.
Church Street itself has recently undergone a recent improvement scheme delivered by Colmore Business District (CBD) and Birmingham City Council, completed in 2012. The work introduced an enhanced public space with benches, trees, greenery, lighting, and a piece of public art called 'Umbra' by award-winning Midlands artist, Wolfgang Buttress.
The property benefits from a highly convenient location with excellent access to the region's motorways via the A38. It is also within close proximity to Birmingham Snowhill, Moor Street and New Street stations.
UBC has acquired 65 Church Street as part of a five-year management contract, which includes a total of 11,340 sq ft of internal space.
