UBM Tech Appoints Kim Davis as Editor-in-Chief of SaaS in the Enterprise
-- Kim Davis will take on his new role with SaaS in the Enterprise as UBM prepares to expand and revamp its online community dedicated to covering this important aspect of information technology.
NEW YORK, Dec. 23, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- UBM Tech is pleased to announce that Kim Davis has been promoted to editor-in-chief of SaaS in the Enterprise, the company's community-oriented site that keeps readers up-to-date about applications in the cloud.
Davis has worked as managing editor of SaaS in the Enterprise since July. His promotion comes at a time when UBM Tech is looking to expand its coverage of SaaS and the business of cloud computing in 2014. SaaS in the Enterprise is one of the longest running of UBM Tech's IT communities, with readers tuning into the site every day to learn about the SaaS market from the site's roster of IT professionals who share their experience and know-how in blogs, live chats, and other content.
During the past several months, Davis has overseen a number of new features on the site, including a special cartoon caption contest to bring some humor to the subject, as well as a feature called "SaaS Days of Our Lives," which highlights different SaaS applications that are voted on by the readers.
"Kim has been really asset to the SaaS in the Enterprise site and we're very happy he's moving into the top position there," said Scott Ferguson, the editorial director for UBM Tech's community sites. "We consider SaaS one of the core technologies we write about, and Kim has great plans for making the community even more vibrant in the coming year."
A Londoner by birth, Davis is now a New Yorker by choice. He became a professional journalist in his teens, writing for the UK music press. He then co-founded and edited an academic philosophy journal, Cogito, while collecting a doctorate in the subject from the University of Bristol. More recently, he was assistant editor at The New York Times Local East Village website.
Davis joined UBM TechWeb in April 2011. He has served as Community Editor and Senior Editor for Internet Evolution, where his beat covered enterprise cloud computing, business analytics, and IT security.
Davis is assigned to UBM Tech's New York City offices.
