UNISOC Partners with Mobicel to Launch High-performance Smartphone Powered by SC7731E in South Africa
SHANGHAI, July 10, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- UNISOC, a leading fabless semiconductor company, today announced its latest 28nm WCDMA platform SC7731E has been adopted by one of the largest mobile phone companies in South Africa - MOBICEL™. MOBICEL ASTRO, the world's first smartphone powered by SC7731E, was officially launched into the market in June 2018.
Powered by UNISOC 28nm WCDMA platform SC7731E, MOBICEL ASTRO runs Android™ Oreo™ (Go edition) with 512MB RAM + 4GB ROM, featuring 4inch WVGA LCD, 1400mAh battery and 2M+5M camera. The model will be exclusively supplied for South Africa's leading network operator MTN.
SC7731E is a highly integrated chipset platform that supports WCDMA/HSPA/HSPA+ and GSM/GPRS/EDGE dual-mode modems. SC7731E integrates 1.3 GHz Quad-core ARM Cortex™-A7 processor and Mali T820 MP1 3D graphics accelerator. It also integrates BT, WIFI, FM, GNSS and cellular RF. UNISOC SC7731E has dedicated architectures and algorithms for low-power ASIC design and power management, as well as independently developed noise calibration and cancellation techniques.
