FAIRFIELD, New Jersey, April 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Not only are arenas and stadia using ETFE technology for their roof enclosures, but for canopies and facades as well. Olympia Development of Michigan is building Little Caesars Arena as a part of The District Detroit development. This new arena, future home of the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Pistons, was designed by HOK and features a bowl which is sunken 40 feet below grade. This design allows the arena to blend in with the surrounding neighborhood. The concourse area, between the arena and adjacent retail and office space, will be covered with 44,000 ft2 of Texlon® ETFE on two sides (east and south), and is near completion. This will allow fans to feel as though they are in an outdoor promenade with views of the sky, but they are protected from the elements. Enclosing this area helps to ensure this retail area is active before, during and after games, regardless of the weather.
