ingenie today releases this striking and thought-provoking video to help young drivers understand the dangers they face after they pass the test. The insurance brand, which exclusively insures under-25s, wants as many new drivers and their parents to see it as possible.

In the video, available to watch at http://www.ingenie.com/sophie-interview and rights-free for editorial use, ingenie ambassador Gary Lineker interviews TV presenter, artist and Drive iQ ambassador Sophie Morgan, who, when she was just 18 years old, was left paralysed after a car crash on the night of her A-level results, about six months after passing her driving test.
Sophie gives a searingly honest, emotional and brutally detailed account of the car crash that changed her life. While she doesn't blame anyone else for what happened, she does believe more needs to be done to help improve young drivers' attitude to the road before and after they pass their tests.
The video comes on the back of ingenie's Insure Safer Driving event, which took place at the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall, London on June 24.
The event saw speakers including Gary Lineker, Quentin Willson and Max Mosley, along with road safety experts, charities and businesses come together to call for a forthcoming government green paper to recommend the adoption of real-world solutions that will help tackle the number of serious injuries and deaths on the road.
This includes embracing and encouraging the adoption of telematics insurance like ingenie, which monitors the driving of young policyholders using a box fitted to the car and give feedback via a mobile app. If the system determines that the policyholder is driving well, it rewards them with a discount to their premium when it's reviewed every three months. Over 70 percent of young drivers using the system have been shown to make positive improvements to their driving.
