PUNE, India, Oct. 24, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Global automotive supplier Visteon Corporation (NYSE: VC) has opened its first innovation and design center in India. Centrally located in Pune, one of India's largest cities and a hub for major global automotive companies, the facility focuses on creating ideas, developing concepts and commercializing innovative, market-driven products across Visteon's portfolio.

Housed within the Visteon Engineering Center, the innovation and design center will be staffed by program managers, engineers, industrial designers, human-machine interaction (HMI) experts and market researchers. Its central location allows Visteon to support vehicle manufacturers throughout India.

Tim Yerdon, global director, innovation and design, said opening a design studio is a significant "next step" in fostering and expanding relationships with key Visteon customers in India. Visteon has operated in India for nearly 20 years. The company has four manufacturing plants, three engineering centers, a joint venture and more than 3,000 employees in the country.
