Westcon Group Taps Former Avaya Channel Chief to Lead Newly Created EMEA Operations

- Jeremy Butt to Further Expand Global Footprint of Premier Unified Communications and Security Brands

Westcon Group, a value-added distributor of category-leading unified communications, network infrastructure, data center, and security solutions with a global network of specialty resellers, today announced the company has tapped a former Avaya veteran to lead its newly converged European unified communications, European security and Africa/India/Middle East operations. Jeremy Butt brings to Westcon more than 20-years of sales and marketing expertise, leading successful worldwide channel efforts at Avaya and Motorola.

While at Avaya, Jeremy Butt managed the company's 9,000 relationships with systems integrators, service providers, distributors, value-added resellers and solutions providers. He played a central role in the launch and ongoing success of Avaya Connect - the company's first global channel program.

As newly-appointed EMEA Executive Vice President, Jeremy Butt will bring together separate regional business units into an EMEA regional unit. Responsible for strengthening partner relationships and expanding the reach of Westcon's Unified Communications and Security business practices, he will drive profitability for new and existing customers and markets across the distributor's eco-system of partners.

At Motorola, he oversaw the company's PartnerSelect channel program and aligned new technology development with services and channel strategies for bringing new enterprise mobility solutions to market.

In his new position, Jeremy Butt will report directly to Dean Douglas and will be based in Slough, UK.
