LOS ANGELES, December 15, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
WeWOOD, the premier provider of eco-friendly fashion watches, is pleased to announce the launch of the new #TreeFreeHoliday campaign.
As the holiday season inches closer to December 25, eco-friendly fashion brand WeWOOD is doing what it can to educate people on the importance of saving trees and planting new ones.

Starting this week and running until December 30, WeWOOD will run a holiday campaign titled #TreeFreeHoliday. According to WeWOOD co-founder Daniele Guidi, "We [hope to] encourage our fans and Instagram users to post photos of the creative ways they decorate for the holidays without using a real tree. For every photo submission we receive, we will plant a tree." While the campaign goal is 1,000 photo submissions and thus trees planted, WeWOOD knows that the need for tree planting around the world far exceeds that number. The company believes this is only a starting point, though.
According to statistical reports, more than 33 million Christmas trees are cut down and sold in the United States alone each year, as opposed to only 9.5 million artificial trees used. WeWOOD believes this number is too high and encourages people to find other ways to decorate for the holidays.
The campaign's tagline is "You save a tree, we will plant another" and will make use of the hashtags #TreeFreeHoliday and #WeWOOD. The company is encouraging people to decorate with artificial trees, trees made from recyclable materials, and other alternatives. People of all cultures, religious backgrounds, and lifestyles are encouraged to participate - as long as photos do not include any trees that have been cut down or removed from nature.
While the campaign is only set to run for a few weeks, WeWOOD employees implement similar eco-friendly practices into their daily routines all year round. "This initiative is just a way to raise awareness for what happens all year. At WeWOOD, everything we do is meant to pave the way for a brighter tomorrow," said Guidi.
One of the ways WeWOOD will continue to give back to the environment in 2015 is through the introduction of three new Jupiter Bicolor Watches - the Jupiter Brown-Army, Jupiter Army-Beige, and Jupiter Beige-Brown. As always, each time a customer purchases a watch, a tree is planted somewhere in the world.
The tree planting aspect of the #TreeFreeHoliday campaign will be handled by WeWOOD's partner Trees for the Future, which is a non-profit organization based out of Silver Springs, Maryland.
For more information on the #TreeFreeHoliday campaign, participants are encouraged to reach out to WeWOOD with questions, comments, and concerns.
