Los Angeles-based watchmaker WeWOOD is proud to announce the release of its newest product, the Alpha Black Gold watch. This watch will join the company's current collection of more than seven dozen different styles, colors, and shapes. The Alpha Black Gold watch comes in a dark brown and black finish with gold colored hands and WeWOOD lettering. It features an adjustable clasp and can be fit to any size.
As always, WeWOOD promises to plant one tree for every purchase made. To date, the company has successfully planted more than 300,000 trees across the world. These planting projects have taken place in domestic locations such as the Ozark National Forest and San Juan National Forest, as well as internationally in countries like Zimbabwe, Argentina, and Haiti.
Most recently, WeWOOD helped plant 50,000 trees with the assistance of Trees for the Future Honduras. Trees were planted in ten different sites in La Paz and Intibucá. According to sources close to the program, these areas were targeted because of their high poverty rates and reputation as being underserved by the Honduran government.
WeWOOD and its local partners planted fruit trees, legume trees, and a variety of other fruit yielding plants that will encourage sustainability and provide income for local farmers. The surrounding towns will have better food security and lower coffee production costs as a result of the natural fertilizers produced by the trees that were planted. According to a Trees for the Future representative, "Through our tree planting efforts in this area, we have increased income through fruit sales, and increased and stabilized the coffee harvest." Experts say the effects of the tree planting initiative will be felt for decades to come.
In addition to partnering with Trees for the Future, WeWOOD has also worked with American Forests - the oldest national nonprofit conservation organization in the country. Having already planted in nine different North American areas, WeWOOD looks forward to helping the organization continue to seek its goal of restoring forests in the years to come.
WeWOOD expects the new Alpha Black Gold watch to be one of its best-selling items this holiday season and hopes it will continue to allow the company to plant trees all over the world. The watch will be available on we-wood.us and will retail for $140.00. The watch is hypoallergenic and does not contain any preservatives, alcohol, dyes, or nickel derivatives. It is made from 100% natural wood with a single metal clasp.
