SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 19, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Wikia, Inc. today announced that Neha Tiwari, formerly of YouTube, has joined FANDOM in a newly created position, as VP of Video Strategy and Operations. In this role, Tiwari will drive forward the global media brand's commitment to deliver robust and premium video experiences as FANDOM continues to expand its content offerings. She will be responsible for FANDOM's global video growth and creative direction across its media channels and communities. FANDOM is a leading entertainment media brand powered by fan passion with an audience of more than 180 million monthly global uniques.
"I am thrilled that Neha is joining the FANDOM team," said FANDOM Chief Content Officer Dorth Raphaely. "Her passion, creativity, expertise and strong vision make her uniquely qualified to elevate not only our storytelling and information-sharing capabilities, but also the FANDOM brand. She will play a central role in enriching the way fans can connect with their favorite shows, movies and video games."
Tiwari will spearhead video strategy and development with a focus on original programming, community-enhancing content, and branded content. She will also oversee the video team and FANDOM's studios across key international markets, including San Francisco, Los Angeles, London, and Sydney.
"I am excited to help usher in the next generation of FANDOM," said Tiwari. "It's my goal to create compelling video-based, multiplatform content that resonates with fans and spurs engagement in an entirely new way. Partnerships will be core to achieving this and I look forward to developing a program that embraces such opportunities."
Prior to joining FANDOM, Tiwari held leadership positions at influential media companies like CBS Interactive and IGN Entertainment, in addition to YouTube. In her most recent role at YouTube, she served as Strategic Partnerships and Programming Manager, where she worked with gaming creators, publishers, and media partners on opportunities for video growth, collaboration and original content and programming.
Tiwari's appointment marks an important step in FANDOM's ambitious content plan. Recently, the brand launched a redesign inclusive of a comprehensive stream and feed-based user experience. FANDOM is also releasing a global app for iOS and Android on October 3, 2017, which will allow fans to follow their favorite fandoms.
