The 2017 partners-elect are:
Matthew Argenti, Patents and Innovation. Based in Palo Alto, Argenti focuses on patent litigation with an emphasis on post-grant review proceedings before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He also litigates patent cases in federal courts and before the International Trade Commission. Argenti received his J.D. from Chicago-Kent College of Law at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 2005.
Megan Baier, Corporate. Based in New York, Baier specializes in corporate and securities transactions, private financings, and the representation of corporate issuers and leading investment banks in connection with public offerings. She also counsels publicly held companies on general corporate matters, SEC compliance, disclosure matters, and complex securities law issues. Baier received her J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School in 2007.
Cédric Burton, Privacy and Data Protection. Based in Brussels, Burton advises on all facets of global and European privacy and data protection laws, including implementing multifaceted compliance programs, advising on data transfer restrictions, assisting with cross-border regulatory investigations and litigation, and responding to data breaches. Burton received an LL.M. from Fordham University School of Law in 2007, an LL.M. from the University of Namur, Belgium, in 2005, and a J.D. from the University of Liège, Belgium, in 2004.
Scott Craig, Corporate. Based in Austin, Craig focuses on mergers and acquisitions, private company equity and debt financing, public offerings, and general corporate and securities law. He received his J.D. from University of Texas School of Law in 2004.
Benjamin Crosson, Securities and Governance Litigation. Based in Palo Alto, Crosson specializes in defending companies and their officers and directors in shareholder class actions and derivative suits, complex civil litigation, and internal investigations and representations before the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Department of Justice in connection with potential financial reporting and accounting fraud allegations, disclosure issues, and potential violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He received his J.D. from Columbia Law School in 2006.
James Huie, Corporate. Based in Palo Alto, Huie advises on general corporate matters, including formation and operation, corporate governance, early- and later-stage venture capital financings, debt financings, and public offerings, with an emphasis on clients in the life sciences and technology industries. He also represents venture capital firms in connection with their investments. Huie received his J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law in 2005.
Sabrina Poulos, Patents and Innovation. Based in Austin, Poulos represents clients in the life sciences and technology industries, and focuses on all aspects of intellectual property strategic counseling, diligence, prosecution, acquisition, and licensing. She has negotiated and drafted license agreements, collaboration arrangements, material transfer agreements, and clinical trial arrangements, and has performed IP due diligence for license agreements, financings, mergers and acquisitions, and IPOs. Poulos received her J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2007.
Brad Sorrels, Securities and Governance Litigation. Based in Wilmington, Sorrels specializes in mergers and acquisitions litigation, stockholder class action litigation and complex commercial litigation in the Delaware Court of Chancery, and appellate practice in the Supreme Court of the State of Delaware. He also advises on Delaware corporate law and corporate governance matters. Sorrels received his J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 2008.
Myra Sutanto Shen, Tax. Based in Palo Alto. Sutanto Shen represents public and private companies in connection with federal income tax planning for corporate transactions in domestic and cross-border settings, including mergers and acquisitions, corporate formations, financings and restructurings, and equity offerings. Sutanto Shen received her J.D. from Northwestern University School of Law in 2007.
