Since the announcement of this commitment in 2006, WISeKey using its WISeID mobile application has reached out to consumers worldwide both in developing and developed markets allowing individuals to automatically generate their WISeID from social credentials combined with strong authentication in over 130 countries. The global WISeID deployment already includes very large ecosystems in China in cooperation with BOCO Telecom, USA with the Bancorp, Brazil with BrasilInvest and India with Appin and sports clubs such as FC Barcelona and Real Madrid associating WISeIDs with social interactions between supporters of large sports clubs and their players.
For the CGI edition 2012 WISeKey is launching a new version of WISeID 4.1 at a great time for Internet users to re-evaluate both the security and reliability of digital identities and online transactions. WISeID can create an accountable identity from its personal data organizer, which securely stores private details such as account username and passwords, credit card numbers, ewallets and access PINs. With the release of WISeID 4.1, the digital identity app is also offering face recognition and pattern recognition for access authentication.
"Our objective is to include one billion people into the net economy by offering a platform to enabling anyone with a mobile phone to carry out secure transactions with their accountable IDs, even if they don't have a bank account," said Carlos Moreira, Founder and CEO of WISeKey. The WISeID 4.1 CGI edition includes the possibility to integrate existing mobile wallets and use the WISeID app for Micro Remittances and epayments.
