Tourists and Copenhageners are set to experience a cultural northern light in the Danish capital this February! About a hundred different events will tempt the ears, delight the taste buds and indulge the aesthetic senses, when the Wondercool festival fills Copenhagen with world-class gastronomy, music, design and fashion events.
New Nordic Cooking
Visitors to Wondercool will have the chance to try nouveau Nordic cooking, especially since a large number of events are gastronomic in focus - and with good reason! With the newly awarded title of world's best chef 2011 at Bocuse d'Or to Dane Rasmus Koefoed, and the title of number one restaurant in the world given to Copenhagen restaurant Noma, Nordic cuisine and the Copenhagen restaurant scene are currently sizzling hot.
Design and fashion for the people
Not only is Copenhagen the place to dine at the moment, Copenhagen, and Denmark at large, are renowned for fashion and design - particularly the proud Danish tradition of eye-catching fashion, often referred to as "democratic fashion", being both wearable and affordable. Danish fashion and design are to be celebrated at the Wondercool festival with open shows, exhibitions and parties.
A Creative city with outstanding venues
Events in Copenhagen are often held at unusual venues, and the same will be true during Wondercool. Dining in the Royal Danish Playhouse, jazz and rock in churches, soup-bars and theatres, and fashion shows in the streets. The renowned Copenhagen Jazz Festival presents both Danish and international names, and new rock festival FROST brings rebel rock to a wide range of venues. So when you stroll through Copenhagen in February, you can expect an abundance of creative, cool and cultural people and events.
