LONDON, March 19, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
Global game giants Electronics Arts and Sony Computer Entertainment Europe are due to speak at the first ever Game QA & Localisation Forum, an upcoming two-day international event dedicated entirely to quality assurance and localisation within the gaming industry.
The meeting, hosted by Gaming IQ - a division of global events company IQPC - is the first of its kind. A two-day forum featuring a mix of innovative presentations and interactive breakout workgroups, the Game QA & Localisation Forum allows senior QA & localization professionals, game developers and publishers a rare opportunity to network and discuss shared industry challenges as peers in order to achieve world-class QA & localization for games worldwide.
Chris Rowley, EA's Senior Director of Certification, who was first to speak of the need for more formalised best practices and standardisation within game QA, said, "This event is a good opportunity for games QA to put a stake in the ground and show how much it has matured. We've truly become a discipline in our own right."
Also speaking is Dave Parkinson, Director for Global 1st Party QA at Sony Computer Entertainment Europe and Edmundo Barahona, Head of QA for German publisher ProSiebenSat.1, along with many other developers which will be announced shortly. Topics to be covered include test plans, automation, agile methodologies, budgeting, compliance and legal aspects.
