WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017 competition promotes global vocational education and skills excellence
Fluke Corp. co-sponsors the 44th bi-annual global skills event held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates October 15-18
EVERETT, Washington, Oct. 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- More than 1,200 vocational students from around the world are heading to the United Arab Emirates to demonstrate their skills and compete head-to-head to be the best in the world at WorldSkills Abu Dhabi 2017. And for the 10th time, Fluke Corp. is one of the sponsors of this global skills event that promotes and celebrates vocational education.
WorldSkills 2017 will be held 15-18 October at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates — the first time WorldSkills will be held in the Middle East.
The largest skills competition in the world, WorldSkills brings together vocational students from 77 countries to compete in 51 skill areas, and draws more than 150,000 attendees. The competitors, all under the age of 22, simulate real work challenges that must be completed according to international industry standards.

Fluke will provide test tools to be used in 11 skills categories: information network cabling, manufacturing team challenge, aircraft maintenance, electronics, electronics installation, industrial control, mobile robotics, automobile technology, refrigeration and air conditioning, IT networks systems administration, and industrial mechanic millwright. The company will have a booth at the competition with interactive demonstrations and giveaways.
