AWC (Antique Wine Company) Appoints Stuart Young as Sales Director
LONDON, August 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ --
AWC has announced the appointment of Stuart Young as Sales Director to spearhead and grow its international team of fine and rare wine advisors. Stuart will head AWC's team of seven in its London office along with its global affiliates in Asia and the US.
Stuart started his career in technology and, following a brief interlude working in the US, took a role with Laithwaites, working initially in its call centre. Despite no prior experience of the wine trade Stuart developed a revolutionary upselling initiative, and as a result of his team development success began writing and delivering sales training programmes across Laithwaites and its parent company, Direct Wines.
Spotting an opportunity to fuse his sales and training experience, Stuart launched Provenance Recruitment, head hunting staff for companies including Pernod Ricard, Bibendum, Enotria and Pol Roger, but a meeting with AWC Managing Director, Stephen Williams, convinced him to return to his sales routes.
At AWC, Stuart is responsible for doubling the sales team over the next 12 months as it keeps demand with an expanding international client base. He will also take on staff development, ensuring that its growing team is supported through financial, commercial and logistical training.
Speaking about his appointment, Stuart comments, "AWC is a company with big ambitions and an entrepreneurial spirit, which provides its team with exceptional opportunities rarely seen within the wine world. It is an exciting time to join as AWC continues to expand into new global markets."
