IBA Group Shortlisted for 2015 European Outsourcing Association Awards
MINSK, Belarus, July 29, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
The European Outsourcing Association (EOA) announced the shortlist of the 2015 EOA Awards. IBA Group - http://www.ibagroupit.com - applied and was shortlisted in the category Outsourcing Works - Award for Delivering Business Value in European Outsourcing. Listed as IBA Group & Minsk City Authorities, the entry featured the Automated Fare Collection (AFC) system that IBA Group implemented in the Minsk public transport.
As the judges were impressed with the IBA Group's submission, they initiated nomination of Minsk City Authorities (Minsktrans) for the Pan-European Buyer of Outsourcing Services of the Year award. Therefore, the AFC solution was shortlisted in the two categories.
Kerry Hallard, CEO of the NOA, commented: "We've had a wide variety of entrants for the EOA Awards this year, a fantastic combination of organisations demonstrating the best and brightest that European outsourcing has to offer. From the submissions received it is clear that buyers and suppliers are partnering to deliver innovation, transformation and significant value-add results. We are also seeing a number of countries across the continent making great strides as outsourcing locations, now competing with more established offshore destinations."
She also added: "Being shortlisted for the EOA Awards is a testament to having achieved something truly spectacular in the realm of outsourcing. The award winners will be announced in Lisbon on 8th October, and we're very excited to see which partnerships and organisations will be crowned as the best of Europe's outsourcing elite."
Sergei Levteev, IBA Group Chairman, said: "It is an honor to be shortlisted for the EOA Awards. The IBA Group's solution for public transport nominated in the contest processes over 1.5 million transactions per day and is used by more than a million passengers. We keep looking for ways to innovate and to bring high-end IT into the everyday life of people. IBA Group has plans to expand the introduction of smart card, NFC, and other new technologies in different industries and markets. We are also happy that the judges highly commended and shortlisted our customer."
IBA Group developed and implemented the AFC system in 2014. In 2015, it was recognized as the best vertical solution of the year at the European IT & Software Excellence Awards organized by IT Europa.
