PARIS, April 20, 2017 /PRNewswire/ --
Heesen Yachts is a Dutch shipyard that designs superyachts known for their exceptional performance, cutting-edge technology and timeless design. In order to support innovation and manage the complexity of customized luxury superyacht design, the company wanted to equip itself with a unique, global and transversal 3D platform.

Heesen Yachts adopted Dassault Systèmes' solutions, including 3D CATIA modeling applications and DELMIA digital industrial applications for the design and assembly of its yachts. Its aim: to evolve from a 2D to a 3D environment.
Keonys is assisting the shipbuilder with the migration of its 3D CATIA V5 tool to Dassault Systèmes' Marine & Offshore 3DEXPERIENCE solutions.
3DEXPERIENCE is a collaborative platform that brings together all Dassault Systèmes' products, including CATIA and DELMIA, in order to improve communication between departments. It makes it possible to interact with all Dassault Systèmes' solutions, without breaking the digital chain. The platform makes it possible for the various interdependent departments to work together in a single shared environment.
The 3D CATIA modeling application, accessible to all via 3DEXPERIENCE, provides each team with a clearer understanding of the requirements of each trade. All team members have the same level of information at the same time. By working on the same model in real time, they can make the necessary adjustments before sending them to production, which saves a considerable amount of time. Potential interferences are managed right from the design stage with the interactive virtual 3D model.
Precious limited space inside the yacht is optimized, as all team members have better visibility of fittings produced by other trades.
"With more effective solutions, a 3D development process and improved collaboration between the various trades, from the ideas stage to building of the yacht, we are able to comply with very tight deadlines and increase customer satisfaction, which is our primary concern," explains Peter van der Zanden, General Manager Design & Development at Heesen Yachts.
"Keonys is very proud to assist Heesen Yachts with this migration. For nearly two years, our Dutch branch has been working closely with Dassault Systèmes and Heesen Yachts on this major complex project, which includes industrial innovation challenge, in order to optimize the ship and yacht-building industry," concludes Isabelle Yung-Lafargue, President of Keonys.
