Musion Celebrates 10 Years of Creating Magical Experiences
LONDON, June 27, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --
From Las Vegas to India, the world leader in holographic projection has amazed the world for over a decade
Musion, the world leader in 3D holographic projection, is celebrating 10 years of successfully providing the world with mesmerising experiences through its superior, world-leading patented technology.
Favoured by royalty, politicians, celebrities, multinational brands, entertainment giants and not-for-profit organisations, Musion 3D has been used by more than a thousand companies and public figures to create unforgettable concerts, retail experiences, TV shows, communication world firsts, business breakthroughs, museum exhibitions and artistic installations.
Musion's magic has been seen across the world by millions of people and nowhere has its influence been felt more than in the entertainment capital of America, Las Vegas. Musion's holographic extravaganzas include:
- Celine Dion - more than 200,000 people have seen the $20,000,000 grossing show; named the number one US show in 2011, Dion's contract was extended until 2019 and made her the most profitable artist in Vegas since Elvis
- Mötley Crüe - the rock giants redefined rock at the Joint with an epic holographic concert that went down in history
- Honda Acura Launch - corporate marketing took on a whole new meaning with an epic holographic product launch
- The MobMuseum - learning became interactive when Musion Eyeliner™ gave visitors an organised crime experience never seen before
- Interblock Holographic Gaming - the specialist gave a glimpse of the future of Las Vegas gaming with a virtual unit that is more engaging, exciting and futuristic than the competition
James Rock, Director of Musion, said, "The past decade has been an exciting, transformative journey. Musion has grown to become a darling of the world and a huge British export. Our mission was to change how people perceive the world. No other holographic company has the expertise, content partnerships, patented technology or pure love to achieve what we have. We are extremely excited for the next ten years."
In 1992 innovator and fellow director Uwe Maass's fascination with 3D technology began when he invented the first polarised 3D laser projector. From there, he made history with the creation of Musion and the building of the first Musion Eyeliner™ system for jewellery giant Swarovski. The company's incorporation in 2002 marked the beginning of Musion Systems Ltd and the filing of many of its global patents.
Musion was pushed into the public limelight with its incredible 2005 Grammy performance by Madonna and Gorillaz. Since then it has grown to work with famous names such as Disney, Universal Studios, David Beckham, BMW, Mariah Carey, Sony, ABBA, Sir Richard Branson, Will.I.Am, Mick Jagger, HRH Prince Charles and the famous Tupac performance at Coachella.
Digital resurrections, such as our work on Tupac and Frank Sinatra, have changed the way the public interprets the world.
It should be remembered that Musion owns patents to this technology. Unfortunately, with many companies now trying to follow in its footsteps, infringements have occurred and are occurring.
The current collaboration between Cirque du Soleil and Michael Jackson's estate is another example of how the Eyeliner™ technology created and driven by Musion is transforming the way we view the potential of technology.
Musion is proud to have started a visual revolution that it will continue to lead, influence and dominate for years to come, whether in holographic TelePresence, its patented Pepper's Ghost effect or through holographic motion-capture (protecting and preserving its exciting technology for the enjoyment of future generations).

About Musion 3D
Presented under the brand Musion 3D, its advanced video projection techniques are used across a range of incredible products and services.
Its portfolio includes Musion Eyeliner™, Musion's full-scale 3D stage environment; Musion EyeCandy™, a compact and intimate version of Musion Eyeliner; Musion TelePresence, its live two-way, real-time holographic conferencing; Musion EyeSay™, its realistic, engaging digital signage mannequins; and Musion Digital Resurrection & Content Creation, its holographic content creation studio.
Its holographic technology is created through a clever reimagining of the Pepper's Ghost technique.
An invisible foil is rigged across a stage at 45 degrees. Video content is bounced off a projector screen into a projection pit, reflected upwards, reflected again off the foil and then appears on stage giving the impression a real 3D volumetric image is there.
Some clever lighting, stage dressing and post production finishes off the process to create the most stunning visual medium ever seen.
