Dobson was most recently at BBC Worldwide where he served as executive vice president and general manager, BBC Advertising Division. In addition to running the board, as chairman of The Exchange Lab, Dobson will provide strategic direction for the company, develop robust frameworks for delivering profitable growth and establish new relationships with key external stakeholders.

At BBC Worldwide, Dobson oversaw advertising across the company's overseas pay-TV channels and online services and as a BBC Worldwide executive board member he was responsible for advertising monetization strategy and execution across all BBC Worldwide divisions and BBC World News. Previously, Dobson served at Microsoft for seven years as vice president and general manager of the UK Online Services Division and vice president of global ad sales and trade marketing. In these positions, Dobson played a pivotal role in monetizing Microsoft's global content and social audience assets generating annual advertising revenues in excess of $2.5 billion. Previous roles at Microsoft include vice president of global sales and vice president of international ad sales and trade marketing. Dobson began his career in television at MTV Networks Europe and Thames TV.
The Exchange Lab recently announced $8 million (£5 million) in growth capital funding from Business Growth Fund (BGF) to further develop its proprietary analysis and trading platform technology, DataLab. DataLab allows The Exchange Lab to integrate the best programmatic players across display, video, mobile, social and content.
