TV Masterpieces Awarded at the VENICE TV AWARD 2018

Three weeks after the Film Festival, international Jurors met in Venice for the VENICE TV AWARD, supported by egta, ACT (Association of Commercial TV), IMZ (International Music + Media Centre). Celebrating the masterpieces of TV.

Outstanding works were rewarded from United Kingdom, Germany, India, France, USA, Singapore, Sweden, Italy, Ireland, Czech Republic, Spain, Austria, Lithuania, New Zealand, Croatia, Taiwan, Australia, Norway, Belgium, The Netherlands, South Africa.
The leading countries were United Kingdom and Germany, each with 2 Gold Trophies. United Kingdom won in Documentary with Mosul (Channel4/Mongoose Production) and in Light Entertainment - Cruising with Jane McDonald (Channel 5). German Winners were 4Blocks in TV Series (TNT Series) and Summer of '44 - The Lost Generation in Best TV Movie (ARD) produced by Zieglerfilm.
The jury evaluated programmes from around the world in the categories Performing Arts, Documentary, Light Entertainment, Program Promotion, Branded Entertainment, Sport, Children/Youth, Comedy, Reality TV, Technical High Quality, Cross-Platform, New Talent, TV Series, TV Film.
The award is seen as a statement that the TV Industry remains active and successful in today's social media based society. In a changing Media-Landscape TV still very effective and a cornerstone of peoples lives and democracy.
