VIENNA, December 9, 2015 /PRNewswire/ --
ALED Daylight technology developed by the smart glass technology company was recognised as a trend-setting innovation for glass as a source of light at the award ceremony in Munich. LightGlass thus came out on top with the Iconic Award 2015 against 600 international entries.
The renowned Iconic Award has this year awarded its highest honour to LightGlass. The Austrian technology company won the international award (http://www.iconic-architecture.com/iconic-awards.html) in the main category "Product" with the distinction "Best of Best". As reasons for its decision the jury cited the ground-breaking innovation of simulating high-quality daylight and integrating light as an architectural component. With ALED Daylight, glass itself becomes the light source.

Felix Zabel, Managing Partner of LightGlass: "ALED Daylight is a patented technology that makes it possible to light up transparent glass across its entire surface and across the whole colour spectrum at the touch of a button. As glass can be incorporated into every existing architectural element, we are able to license our technology to international industrial partners across a range of industries. ALED Daylight is surface-extensive, has a long working life, saves energy and is thus a convincing alternative to OLED."
Reasons of the jury for awarding the "Best of Best" distinction (extract):
"An absolutely fascinating system that represents a completely new interpretation of the topic of lighting."
